Supplies Needed: PSP X Tube of choice - I am using the wonderful art of Jennifer Janesko. You can purchase a license to use her artwork HERE My Supplies - HERE VM Toolbox - Motion Trail Wild DSB Flux - Linear Transmission Alien Skin Xenofex2- Burnt Edges AV Bros Curl 2.1 If you want to use the circle brush that I supplied you will want to open it up in PSP. I saved it as PNG format so that anyone in any version can use it. Just open it and in PSP X go up to file/export/custom brush and you can name it there. I would appreciate you naming it tk-circlebrush so that if you ever need to know where it came from you will know because all my files start with tk. Open up your tube or image you want to use duplicate and close the original. I think the best type of tube is one that shows the whole body or at least most of it for the layered picture effect. If it’s a tube and you don’t have a background then we will have to create one. Create a new layer and move to the bottom. Pick two colors from your tube that compliment each other and then select gradient/foreground-background, linear, angle 90, repeats 0 and flood fill background with the gradient. Effects/VM Toolbox/Motion Trail Wild with the default settings or if you choose you can play with them for a different look. Repeat the same filter but with the following settings:
Effects/DSB Flux with these settings:
Merge visible. Image/add borders with these settings:
You will need to resize the image. I used 90 percent, bicubic to resize and then repeated it once. Open up a new canvas size 600x600 and flood fill with white. Copy and paste your picture you just did onto this new canvas as a new layer. Do not delete this picture yet. We will go back to it in a minute. You will want to add a drop shadow. I used 2, 2, 42 and 2 with black for the color. Go back to your picture that you did with the borders and select your rectangle selection tool. Select an area of the picture but DON’T include any of the white border part. You can see my example below:
Copy, then paste as a new image. You can do this by clicking an empty area on your workspace and right-clicking. Image/Add borders with the same settings as before. In the layer palette right click on this layer and “promote background to a layer”. Effects/AV Bros curl with these settings:
Hit apply and then effects/AV Bros curl with these settings for the bottom curl:
Copy and paste this onto your canvas as a new layer. You need to resize this with the same settings as before so that it’s the right size to blend better. Make sure “resize all layers” is not checked. Move it into position so that it fits the body good. Sounds like a milk commercial. Lol Add a drop shadow. I used 2, 2, 45, 4 and black for the color. X out the background color and then merge visible. Image/free rotate and change the settings to:
Reposition the pictures so that you have room to work. Open up your paperclip and paste as a new layer. You will want to resize this to look more proportionate. Move the paperclip where you like it and then duplicate it and move it BELOW the picture layers but ABOVE the background layer. In the layer palette highlight the TOP paperclip layer and then choose your eraser tool. The settings will vary depending on the size of your pictures and paperclip. Basically you want the eraser to be a size that will allow you to erase the MIDDLE part of the clip without hitting the outer part of the clip. You want the hardness at 100 and the opacity at 100. Zoom in for this part. This is what I have when done:
Add a drop shadow to the TOP paperclip layer. I used 2, 2, 45, 3 and black for the color. X out the background layer and merge visible. In the layer palette highlight the bottom background layer. Let’s create the background paper now. Select your rectangle vector tool and pick a color for the fill. Stroke/null. I used #9d7458. Drag out the rectangle and you can use my example tag for reference. This rectangle should be falling UNDER your picture layer. Convert to raster layer. Selections/select all/, selections/float, selections/defloat. A little tip here, I use these settings A LOT so I added these buttons to the top of my toolbar so that I can just click each button and its 1, 2, 3. You can customize your workspace to work how you want it to. I’ll write up a little tutorial on how to do this after this one. Create a new raster layer. Select the circle brush and pick a slightly darker shade than your rectangle and stamp on some circles. I used #654d3d. You can vary the size or do whatever you like here. I changed the blend mode to soft light and lowered the opacity to 28. Deselect. In the layer palette make sure the brush layer is selected and that the rectangle layer is beneath it and then right-click merge down. Now lets add some texture. Effects/texture effects/blinds with these settings:
Effects/xenofex 2/burnt edges with these settings:
From here you can really do whatever you want to finish it off and make it yours. You can tell what I did by looking at the example tag. You can use the supplies I included in the download and make it look similar to mine or make it all your own. Don’t forget to add your copyright info to the finished tag. Thank you for doing this tutorial. |
